Alexandra Capelo
SENIOR CREATIVE ARTWORKER
AND PRESENTATIONS DESIGNER
I was born in Madeira Island, came to Lisbon at the age of 3. Soon started my path in arts. I did some theatre plays, danced ballet and studied music, playing the clarinet and the violin.
In university, I studied Graphic Arts and Advertising.
I have always worked in the area until a few years ago when I founded a company in the food area, called Aladina - Genie Recipes.
Besides working again in Graphic Design, with a strong focus on DTP and Presentation Design, I am also a Graphic Design teacher in vocational education, where I work closely with students on visual communication, layout, editorial design and professional workflows.
Alongside, I am also a member of the Academia de Instrução e Recreio Familiar Almadense Philarmonic Orchestra, where I play the clarinet. More recently, I am also involved in a small chamber music ensemble, exploring a more intimate and collaborative musical setting.
I see myself as a cheerful, humble and assertive person, with a practical and grounded approach to both creative and human challenges.
An artworker for over 20 years, and working exclusively as a freelancer since 2014, my background in arte-final and production remains a solid foundation of my work, even though my current focus has been clearly centred on DTP and presentation design, areas where I have been most active for the past decade.
Below I show a selection of my projects. Please explore and feel free to contact me if you are looking for a freelance or remote DTP or Presentation Designer, or simply wish to exchange ideas.

"Artworkers get a concept from a designer (either in drawing or digital form) and use the appropriate software to create it."
Rob Cubbon

Professional Personality
Dedication, resilience, attention to detail and a certain natural “dissatisfaction” turn me into a focused professional who adds value to every project I am involved with.
The artwork is, to me, the corollary of that tenet. An oversight or slight inattention may bring about a dissatisfactory result. On the other hand, an attentive work, that is truly detailed, gives us all something to be proud of, beginning with the designer, through the art director and agency up to the client, the most important of all.
I am a proponent of the “happy ends” artworks.
Results-oriented, I am also flexible on methodology, software, work pace, team, project and client typology.
I enjoy teamwork, am responsible and attentive to deadlines, always seeking to fulfill the client’s requests.
I prefer to work on large projects on which I can focus for a very long period to acquire more in-depth knowledge.
I am dynamic, creative and not afraid of hard work or blanc pages. Each project is both a challenge and an opportunity to learn.
In recent years, besides the usual programs of Graphic Design such as the Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro, I have been specializing in MS Office: Word, Powerpoint and Excel that may give the client more flexibility and autonomy. I am also an entrepreneur, always aiming to do something new that solves me and my clients all problems we may come across.
